Are you ready for your Cinco de Mayo Celebration? There are many different activities you can do to help you prepare with your friends and family, but let’s start by racing there! You can create your very own Cinco de Mayo themed race car with your friends and family.

The first step in racing towards Cinco de Mayo is getting your tools ready for your race car.

All you need to get started is:
1. Toilet paper roll(s)
2. Cardboard
3. Scissors
4. Hole-Punch
5. Paint or markers to decorate your car.
6. Thumbtacks
7. (Optional: bottle caps, tooth picks and straws)

Step 1: Use your scissors to cut a square in the middle of one side of the tube. This will be your driver’s seat.
Step 2: Use the hole-punch to make holes where your tires will be located on the tube.
Step 3: Decorate your tube with your favorite Cinco de Mayo colors to get ready for the big day.colors
-If you want to get really creative, try drawing something like a guitar or sombrero on your car to make it more festive!
Step 4: Use the cardboard to draw and cut out the wheels for your racecar. Then use the thumb tacks to attach the wheels to the tube.
Option 2: You can also use bottle caps as wheels for your racecar and use straws and/or toothpicks to attach the caps to your wheels.
Step 5: Finish any last minor details on your race car, double check that the wheels are in place and it is ready to go!

Making your own Cinco de Mayo Themed Race Car is just one of the many activities you can take part in on this Cinco de Mayo. The best part is that it can be made with items found in your house. No trip to the store needed! Get your friends together this Cinco de Mayo and together see who can get the most creative when making your own Cinco de Mayo Themed Race Car!

Tip of the week: Taking out Zombies

Zombies—they will stop at nothing to knock you off track and slow you down. If it is one thing that our rival teams, the Dragons and the Scorpions can agree on, it is that these undead pests can prove to be somewhat of a nuisance when they invade the racetrack. So whether you are the most skilled Driver or the newest of newbies, these tips will help you deal with those pestering Zombies!

EMDZombies

You can eliminate Zombies with powerful attacks, quick attacks, or just by running them over—whatever your style may be.

Powerful attacks have a big blast radius that packs a hefty punch to damage Zombies. Use this attack to break up larger groups of Zombies or to take down bigger Zombie foes. Is there a Zombie mob blocking your way? No problem—you can clear your way through! Just be careful. Since this attack involves less ammo and has a longer reloading time, accuracy is key.

A Quick attack does exactly what its name involves—it quickly fires ammo to keep our enemy Zombies back. This attack may deal less damage on the enemy, but these weapons hold more ammo, so missing a target or two will not cost you. Be sure to keep moving when you attempt to clear out a large horde. Since you will be shelling out less damage, you will want to make a quick escape if you become surrounded.

Finally, you can live life on the edge and wield your vehicle as weapon! Simply push the pedal to the metal and mow down Zombies by running them over. It may take a little longer to power through a group of Zombies, but you will be able to make a quick getaway if you need to and it is simply fun!

Now you are prepared to survive a Zombie attack. Keep up your speed and stay on the move. Get out there and keep that Zombie infestation under control.

Floor it into the new year by setting new goals for yourself in the game. Go head to head with your rivals and take them out to clear your path to victory on the tracks and around the Combat Zone. There’s no better time than now to boost up your lap time, increase your speed, climb that leader board, and win it all for your team. Let Eat My Dust fuel your need for speed this year and don’t forget to have a blistering good time while you’re at it!

Wrench’s Facts: License to Drive

Every driver that steps behind the wheel of a racing machine to hit the road will always have one thing in common. They have all earned a license to drive! While skill, practice, and responsibility factor into learning to drive, the license itself is a form of identification that provides your basic information to  others on the road. And, things are no different in Eat My Dust!

EMD_AboutMe

Whether you’re on team dragon or team scorpion, each driver has an “About Me” page that allows them to share information with everyone they rule the roads with. To start better connecting with some of your teammates and rival racers, fill out your “About Me” page so they know a little bit more about who they’re up against.

This in-game license carries all your stats including your level in the game a picture of your driver and a few fun favorites.  So don’t be afraid to make it your own!

Play Capture the Flag to Celebrate Flag Day!

Did you know that June 14th is Flag Day? Flag Day celebrates the adoption of the United States flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1977. The week of the 14th is called Flag Week and it’s common for people to celebrate with a barbecue or other patriotic celebrations. However, in EMD we like to celebrate a different way- by playing Capture the Flag! Be sure to gather your friends and head on over to the Badlands to get started!

Capture

Strategy is key to winning a game of Capture the Flag, or CTF as we call it. Being able to work together as a team plays a large part in developing your team’s strategy and changing it as the game progresses. Without proper communication, it is easy for a team to have too many players attempting to capture the other team’s flag and thus exposing their own. On the other hand though, if no one from your team pushes forward to capture the flag, then it is impossible for your team to win.

EnemyFlag

Sometimes during a game of CTF, your team will need to change your strategy. This often happens as the time limit approaches or one team secures a substantial lead. Changing your teams strategy might be as simple as just sending more players forward or as complicated as executing a ‘feigned’ retreat to draw the other team away from their flag. Regardless of what your strategy is or how it changes throughout a game of CTF, communication and cooperation are keys to CTF.

Armed with this new knowledge and these helpful tips, be sure to assemble your friends head on out to the Badlands during Flag Week to earn some coins playing CTF.
